We left Kumily and took a bus to Kottayyam, where we got a 10 rupee ferry to Alleppey, which took us around some backwaters and across Lake Vembanad. The whole ride lasted about 2 hours.
There were some areas we passed where the view was somewhat ruined by the quantity of garbage, however it was still beautiful to see all the plants growing in the water, and the numerous species of birds that were climbing around in them.
