Picturesque Pokhara

After bumpy and uncomfortable 4-hour bus ride we arrived in the cute mountain town of Pokhara. It has been known as the gateway to the Annapurnas, since this is the last outpost of civilization before you head into the mountainous landscape of the Annapurna conservation area. We stayed here for almost a week making all our preparations for our 30-day hike around the Annapurna Circuit.

The view from our awesome private balcony.

Testing out some new cold weather gear.

Pokhara lies along the edge of the lake, Phewa Tal.

We went for a paddle around the lake.

We climbed up one of the nearby hills to the World Peace Pagoda

This was our first sighting of the Annapurna mountains! But we just needed to get a closer look...

Coming Soon on the Rabbit Hole...a ridiculous number of mountain photos.
