Kalming Koh Ngai

When we arrived to Koh Ngai it was a beautiful sunny morning.

There were some enormous coconuts around.

Soon the clouds gathered and the heavens opened up, and a massive rainstorm ensued.

But we didn't let it dampen our spirits.

We decided to go for a hike across the island during a lull in the storm.

There were lots of interesting jungle plants to check out.

A gigantic palm, with its leaves arranged in a perfect spiral.

We emerged into a tranquil grove of coconut palms and tall grass, on the other side of the island.

The strange fruit of the corkscrew palm.

During the 3 days we were on the island it rained for many hours everyday. But one redeeming factor was that, with only a handful of other tourists on the island, we basically had the place to ourselves.

We thoroughly enjoyed relaxing on the island...
