Anti-Climactic Anjuna

After our time in Arambol we decided to head south to Anjuna for a few days to see what all the fuss is about. Anjuna is the infamous party beach, where the 'Goa Trance Scene' is said to have originated from in the 80s and 90s.

The Anjuna Flea Market comes into existence every Wednesday, when hundreds of stalls are set up next to the beach, and vendors come from all round Goa to peddle their wears. This market was originally set up by some American hippies who came to Goa in the 60s and wanted a place to sell or exchange things they didn't need any more.

Here you can see some of what remains of Goa's party scene, a few beach bars that play loud techno music all day and close at 11pm.
